Title: One Author: Sarah Crossan Genre: Fiction, Carnegie Grace and Tippi. Tippi and Grace. Two sisters. Two hearts. Two dreams. Two lives. But one body. Grace and Tippi are conjoined twins, joined at the waist, defying the odds of survival for sixteen years. They share everything, and they are everything to each other. They would never imagine being apart. For them, that would be the real tragedy. But something is happening to them. Something they hoped would never happen. And Grace doesn’t want to admit it. Not even to Tippi. How long can they hide from the truth—how long before they must face the most impossible choice of their lives? Review The book is so emotionally addictive. It is a simple read because of the way it is written but it is totally worth it. It takes you through the decisions the twins have to make together and the difficulties of being a conjoined twin. From the friends the make to the fatal decisions it is a whole other journey. You really get to engage with the characters and I promise you will not expect the ending. 4.25/5* Title: Girl on the train Author: Paula Hawkins Genre: Thriller, Mystery Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. 'Jess and Jason', she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy. And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed. Now Rachel has a chance to become a part of the lives she's only watched from afar. Now they'll see; she's much more than just the girl on the train... Review This book started really well, we were able to engage with the characters really well. It is written in the perspective of three women who's lives somehow intersect and all of them very have different dreams. The only thing about this book is that sometimes I would have to remind myself of who's perspective it was. But overall the story line was amazing and I really recommend this book. 4/5* Title: Lament Author: Maggie Stiefvater Genre: Fantasy, YA Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a painfully shy but prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand—one who can see faeries. Deirdre finds herself infatuated with a mysterious boy who enters her ordinary suburban life, seemingly out of thin air. Trouble is, the enigmatic and gorgeous Luke turns out to be a gallowglass—a soulless faerie assassin. An equally hunky—and equally dangerous—dark faerie soldier named Aodhan is also stalking Deirdre. Sworn enemies, Luke and Aodhan each have a deadly assignment from the Faerie Queen. Namely, kill Deirdre before her music captures the attention of the Fae and threatens the Queen's sovereignty. Caught in the crossfire with Deirdre is James, her wisecracking but loyal best friend. Deirdre had been wishing her life weren't so dull, but getting trapped in the middle of a centuries-old faerie war isn't exactly what she had in mind . . . Review Maggie Stiefvater has done it again. This was an amazing book. I literally had to stay up just to finish this book. The book is a mix between a fantasy and a dystopian novel. Deidre's character goes through a lot but we don't always get to know all her emotions and I would've liked to see more of that. Overall this was a great book and I would recommend it to readers who are just starting to get into YA and readers who enjoy dystopian-fantasy novels. Title: The short second life of Bree Tanner Author: Stephenie Meyer Genre: Fantasy, Novella Bree Tanner can barely remember life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes, and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had a relentless thirst for blood...life before she became a vampire. All Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attention to yourself, and above all, make it home by sunrise or die. What she doesn't know: her time as an immortal is quickly running out. Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they only know as her. As they come to realise that the newborns are pawns in a game larger than anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trust. But when everything you know about vampires is based on a lie, how do you find the truth? Review This is an amazing bonus for all those "Twilight" lovers out there. This lets us see through a character that isn't Bella. Bree has so much to her and in "Eclipse" we didn't get to know what it was. It is a simple read, and is not the type of book I would stay up to read, but I completely recommend it to any "Twilight" or " Shiver" fans. 3/5* Title: Red Queen Author: Victoria Aveyard Genre: Fantasy This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart. Review This book is literally a roller coaster of events. You never know who to trust! I love Mare's character because through this whole journey Mare is never blinded by any lies. Each chapter brings something new and moves the story a long. The ending is perhaps where the book really shines and the cloak and dagger twist is done very well. She gave you hints along the way but I still didn’t really see it coming. I would really love to see either more character building or world building. Personally I want the former, as I like to love my characters. But all in all this is an amazing book you just have to read. 4.5/5* Title: Shiver Author: Maggie Stiefvater Genre: Fantasy, YA When a local boy is killed by wolves, Grace's small town becomes a place of fear. But Grace is fascinated by the pack, and finds herself inexplicably drawn to a yellow-eyed wolf. There's something about him-something almost human. There is something about him-something almost human. Then she meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away... Review This book is a chilling love story that will have you hooked from the first page. If you love Twilight then you are definitely going love this. Its so easy to drift away into this book and feel and see what the characters feel and see. But I have to be honest, I kind of enjoyed Grace's perspective just a little bit more than the others, but either way I still enjoyed this book and would recommend it to all the YA lovers. 3/5* Title: Honeymoon Author: James Patterson Genre: Crime Fiction, Adult, Suspense How does it feel to be desired by every man and envied by every woman? Wonderful. This is the life Nora Sinclair has dreamed about, the life she's worked for, the life she will never give up. When FBI Agent John O'Hara first meet her, she seems perfect. She has the career. The charisma. The sophistication. The tantalising sex appeal. The whole extraordinary package-Nora doesn't just attract men, she enthrals them. So why is the FBI so interested in Miss Sinclair? Mysterious things keep happening to the men in her life. And when Agent O'Hara looks more closely he sees something dangerous about Nora-something that lures him at the same time as it fills him with fear. And the more time he spends with her the less he knows whether he is pursuing justice or his own fatal obsession. Review This book is truly a amazing. Its one those books that you have to stay up and read. Its irresistible and scary and is sure to have you hooked. The characters are presented in such an amazing way. Now I don't normally like dual perspective books because I end up enjoying one character's view more than the others. But this was written in such a great way that you could still be in touch with both characters at the same time. All the plot twists are sure to keep the adrenaline levels very high. If you love crime fiction and suspense, you are definitely going to love this journey! 5/5 *
